Jaguars’ Marcell Dareus cited for possession of marijuana


Jaguars defensive tackle Marcell Dareus has been cited for possession of marijuana.

Dareus was pulled over for speeding Wednesday just before 2 a.m., and Atlantic City, New Jersey, police located two joints and a marijuana grinder in his automobile, according to WJXT.

Dareus was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and provided a verbal warning for speeding.

Jacksonville released a statement relating to Dareus’ predicament on Friday.

″The Jaguars are conscious of a citation involving Marcell Dareus. The matter will be handled internally,″ the statement study.

Dareus is in his third season with the Jaguars and has totaled six tackles in 2019.

Jacksonville (two-two) is riding a two-game winning streak and will face the Panthers (two-two) Sunday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
