NDLEA Destroys 7 Tonnes Of Tramadol, Other Illicit Drugs


The National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday destroyed seven tonnes of quite a few illicit drugs like Cannabis Sativa, Diazepam, Rophynol, Cough syrups with codeine and Tramadol.

Naija News understands that the Acting Commander of NDLEA in Taraba, Peter Odaudu, created this identified on Friday, in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital.

The NDLEA commander throughout a public destruction of the illicit drugs revealed the particulars of the drugs that have been earlier confiscated by guys of the NDLEA.

The NDLEA Commander mentioned the deadly weeds and psychotropic drugs that have been been destroyed on Friday, have been seized among January, 2003 and December, 2018.

He mentioned the Agency has currently obtained a court order with regards to the destruction of the illicit drugs in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital.

Odaudu created the announcement shortly following the agency’s chairman, Lt. Col Muhammad Ahmadu also disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari had authorized the recruitment of five,000 personnel to enhance the agency’s operations.

Whilst speaking on the recruitment, Odaudu mentioned that the recruitment would go a extended way in enhancing operations of the agency and the campaign against drug addiction.

He mentioned the recruitment was component of the efforts to sanitize the Nigerian society from the abuse of drugs, specially the use of illicit drugs, largely caught in the habit of the youths.
