Cannabis investor grants Harvard, MIT $9 million to study health-related marijuana



A main cannabis market investor has created what is believed to be a single of the biggest private donations to study marijuana’s overall health effects.

It is a move that could prove helpful for the cannabis market at significant by spurring study in the United States and probably growing health-related marijuana’s acceptance amongst physicians.

Charles R. Broderick, managing director of Uji Capital – a New York City loved ones workplace that has invested in Tweed, Aphria and other marijuana companies – donated $9 million that Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technologies will split, according to a Harvard Healthcare College news release.

Researchers hope to “unravel the biology of cannabinoids, illuminate their effects on the human brain, catalyze remedies and inform proof-primarily based clinical suggestions, societal policies and regulation of cannabis,” according to the release.
